During 2008, the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington provided $2 million in scholarships to more than 12,000 economically disadvantaged children, adults and families. Our annual Building Bridges campaign raises funds to ensure the long standing tradition of turning no one away due to their inability to pay. Through your contribution, the YMCA is able to provide access to high quality programs to all people regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or socio-economic status. Our Building Bridges Scholarship Campaign helps to fund:

  • Adult and Family Services: The YMCA welcomes individuals and families in need by offering scholarships for membership and other character-developing programs.
  • Child Care and Day Camp Scholarships: Affordable, dependable, quality child care is essential for working parents. The YMCA provides all families access to these vital services through its scholarship program.
  • Youth Outreach: As children grow, we adapt to meet their needs. Teen programs provide youth with academic, social and leadership skills all year long.

These are just a few of the initiatives that your gift to the YMCA helps make possible. Please make your gift to the 2009 Building Bridges Campaign today. Click here for more information on our Building Bridges Campaign.
