A MESSAGE FROM OUR ANNUAL CAMPAIGN CHAIR

"Every year, requests for YMCA scholarships increase. This year more individuals who have lost their jobs and depleted their savings are turning to us for assistance. We need to raise at least $2 million to make sure no one is turned away and we need your help to achieve this goal. Please make a contribution to the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington’s Building Bridges Campaign. Every dollar makes a significant difference and helps the YMCA provide much-needed services for children, families and communities. Click the link below and make your donation now.
I personally give of my time and money to support the YMCA because I know it meets critical community needs. Thank you very much for your consideration of this request, and thank you for helping the YMCA achieve its mission to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities."

SUPPORT
During 2009, the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington provided $1.9 million in scholarships to more than 9,500 economically disadvantaged children, adults and families. Our annual Building Bridges campaign raises funds to ensure the long standing tradition of turning no one away due to their inability to pay. Through your contribution, the YMCA is able to provide access to high quality programs to all people regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or socio-economic status. Our Building Bridges Scholarship Campaign helps to fund:
- Adult and Family Services: The YMCA welcomes individuals and families in need by offering scholarships for membership and other character-developing programs.
- Child Care and Day Camp Scholarships: Affordable, dependable, quality child care is essential for working parents. The YMCA provides all families access to these vital services through its scholarship program.
- Youth Outreach: As children grow, we adapt to meet their needs. Teen programs provide youth with academic, social and leadership skills all year long.
These are just a few of the initiatives that your gift to the YMCA helps make possible. Please make your gift to the 2010 Building Bridges Campaign today. Click here for more information on our Building Bridges Campaign.

THANK YOU YMCA VOLUNTEERS!
The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington wants to take this opportunity during volunteer week to thank all of our volunteers that have done a tremendous job and work with us on a daily basis to make the YMCA a true community. Your dedication, support, and just showing up and rolling-up-your-sleeves attitude is what is at the center of the YMCA. None of our events such as the Turkey Chase Run, Thingamajig, Healthy Kids Day, just to name a few would be possible without the sweat and camaraderie you bring. But it’s not just those large events that sets our volunteers apart, we also thank you for coming to help us with back office work, back office IT support, and many other jobs that may seem small but mean the world to us. THANK YOU!
