President's Message

Welcome to the YMCA. Our new, comprehensive website will serve as your guide to all of our programs and services, and will help everyone from visitors to lifelong members find exactly what they need at the YMCA.

This website is designed to provide a quick tour of the YMCA's varied programs and services throughout the Washington metropolitan region. The tour begins with a brief overview of the YMCA's deep roots in the area. I invite you to explore how our values and our mission fit your lifestyle and your goals.

After learning a little about the YMCA's long history, you can search for programs and services for you and your family using the listings and easy-to-read charts found throughout this website. In all of our key service areas wellness, group exercise, aquatics, active adult, adult, youth, teen, sports, camps, child care, and youth & family services you will find programs to meet your needs.

As you peruse our wide variety of offerings, please remember that the YMCA is committed to serving everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity or socioeconomic status. The YMCA does not turn individuals away due to their inability to pay. If you or your family needs a scholarship for a YMCA program or service, please contact your local YMCA directly. A complete listing of our 17 local branch locations and program centers is featured in this website.

If you are looking for a way to assist your neighbors and improve your community, I urge you to donate to, or volunteer at, the YMCA. Your generosity can help local children and families get the services they desperately need. From sending an inner city child to camp to helping an adult get healthy, your gift can make a real difference. Please sign up online or call 202-232-6700 to get involved today.

Whether you are a member or a volunteer, a scholarship recipient or a generous donor, please accept my personal invitation to explore all that the YMCA has to offer.

Sincerely,

Angie L. Reese-Hawkins
President & CEO
