Register for summer camp today!
Get rid of those winter blues by giving your child something to look forward to this summer - Summer Camp at the Y! When kids experience Y Camp, they experience something new every day. Like the power of a positive mentor, the confidence that comes from trying (and succeeding!), and the importance of healthy, long-lasting friendships. Of course, they don't know this - they just think they're having a whole lot of fun!
From water activities and sports to creative arts, each day is packed with age-appropriate activities, new friends and personal growth. In addition to traditional and specialty camp activities, we are uniquely devoted to physical activity, water safety and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) education. Few environments will foster your child’s mind, body and spirit than at the Y.

Plans for Expansion
Plans are underway to expand the branch and modify the layout where needed in order to build capacity and satisfaction for the growing membership! On January 4th, we opened the Carriage House (located just behind the facility) which features two new Group Exercise studios, as well as increased the availability of the most popular group exercise classes (as requested in member surveys and through class attendance counts). In addition, we are currently working on expanding the free weight room with more space and more equipment. We hope you like the changes that are coming your way!

The Legacy Continues...
We've been innovating for 160 years and we're just getting started. This redeveloped YMCA unites the right minds and resources for community interaction, education, healthy living, and our life-changing programs. The unique design celebrates the legacy of YMCA Anthony Bowen as historically the first African American Y, founded in 1853, along with its ability to adapt and serve our community’s evolving needs. It also pays tribute to its famed visitors (such as Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, Poet Langston Hughes and Dr. Charles Drew) and founder Anthony Bowen, a slave who purchased his freedom in 1830 and went on to become a prominent religious and community leader.
