Does the YMCA offer scholarships for camp?
The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington does provide scholarships for all of its camps. To apply for a camp scholarship, please visit or call the front desk staff for an application.
Does your camp have swimming?
Yes. The YMCA has one of the top aquatics programs in the area. All of our campers enjoy recreational swimming at area swimming pools.
How can I register for summer camp?
You can register for any of our day camp sessions online at www.ymcadc.org. You may also visit the branch for a registration packet.
What are the hours of YMCA Anthony Bowen Day Camps?
Camp Hours are from 9:00 am-4:00 pm. For an additional fee, we also offer extended before care and after care hours. Before care begins at 7:00 am, and aftercare ends 6:00 pm.
What do I need to provide for my child other than the registration form?
Before a child attends a camp, you need to provide a copy of his/her birth certificate and immunization forms.
What do YMCA Anthony Bowen Day Camps offer?
YMCA Anthony Bowen day camps offer everything from traditional camp to sports and other specialty camps.
What methods of payment do you accept for camp?
By simply completing an EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) form, we can draft the camp fees directly from your account. We also accept all major credit cards and a personal check.
What should my child bring to camp every day?
There are a few things campers should bring with them each day to camp: • All campers should bring a bag lunch with the child’s name and date clearly marked on all containers. YMCA Anthony Bowen provides two healthy snacks throughout the day (10:15am and 2:30pm). • Campers should bring a swimsuit Campers should dress in comfortable, weather appropriate clothes and wear athletic shoes. Even those children who are enrolled in specialty camps will have group games and gym time

Yes, campers will enjoy field trips and spend a great deal of time outdoors at local recreational parks.
