How can I register for summer camp?
You can register for any of our day camp sessions online at www.ymcadc.org. You may also pick up a registration form at the front desk
Can I switch my child from one camp to another?
If space is available, you are welcome to switch your child to another camp. Please note, however, that you will lose your deposit.
Does the YMCA offer scholarships for camp?
The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington does provide scholarships for all of its camps. Please call or visit the front desk for a financial aid application.
Does your camp offer swimming?
The YMCA has one of the top aquatics programs in the area. Our campers enjoy recreational swimming at Prince George’s Community College.
What are your policies on discipline?
Our staff provides a caring and nurturing environment, where we promote the YMCA core values of caring, honest, respect and responsibility. Please review our parent handbook for more information.
What do I do when I drop off/pickup my child for camp?
You will need to sign your child in at both the front desk and his/her classroom.
What do I need to provide for my child other than the registration form?
Before a child attends a camp, you need to provide a copy of his/her medical record and immunization forms. .
What do YMCA Potomac Overlook Day Camps offer?
YMCA Potomac Overlook Day Camps offer everything from traditional camp to sports, dance, and other specialty camps.
What methods of payment do you accept for camp?
By simply completing an EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) form, we can draft the camp fees directly from your account. We also accept all major credit cards, money orders and cash. We do not accept personal checks.
What should my child bring to camp every day?
There are a few things campers should bring with them each day to camp. Please make sure and label all items. • All campers should bring a healthy, non-perishable bag lunch. The YMCA will provide a healthy afternoon snack. • Campers should wear athletic gear and comfortable closed in shoes. For safety and identification purposes, they must wear camp t-shirts on all field trips. • No toys are allowed at camp without prior permission from the Camp Director.

Will campers go on field trips and is there an extra fee?
Yes, campers will go on field trips and you will be notified in advance of all field trips. Field trip costs are included in your camp fee. You may visit the branch to pick up a field trip schedule for your child’s camp session. Please note, field trips are subject to change.
