YMCA Camp Letts Counselors

What it Takes to Be a Summer Camp Counselor

Imagine going to work knowing that what you do each day builds a bridge to the future. Working at the Y, you’ll discover more than a summer job—you’ll learn and grow, live and work with people from around the world, and make a lasting difference in the lives of youth. While a summer camp position may conjure images of kayaking and ziplining by day and roasting marshmallows around a campfire at night, you’ll leave with one prevailing memory: the time spent living with, teaching, and inspiring your campers.

YMCA Camp Letts is seeking highly skilled, qualified and responsible individuals whose warmth, consideration and companionship will shape our campers’ experience. All staff go through an extensive screening process including interviews, multiple character references and fingerprinting by state police and the FBI. Once you are welcomed to our summer family, you will undergo an extensive two-week training for safety, certifications and basic operations.
