A Social Service Branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington
YMCA Youth & Family Services has been providing counseling and intervention services to children and families in Montgomery County, Md., for more than 40 years. With 18 program sites and 60 staff members, Youth & Family Services currently provides assistance to more than 6,000 adults and children every year.
YFS offers the majority of its services free of charge. Individuals do not have to be members of the YMCA to receive services.
Program Areas:
Through three primary service areas, YFS offers comprehensive assistance to all:
- Core Services – Therapeutic and supportive services available to children and families in the community, regardless of their ability to pay
- School-based Programs – Services offered in low-income Montgomery County elementary and middle schools address the social, economic and emotional barriers to academic success
- Community-based Programs – A variety of educational and life enrichment programs offered in low income communities in lower Montgomery County.
