On Thursday, November 27th, the YMCA of Bethesda-Chevy Chase and the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary partnered to host the 43rd annual Turkey Chase Charity Race. As the YMCA’s biggest fundraiser year after year, this beloved annual community-giving event attracts participants from far in wide in the spirit of the holiday and neighborly love.

The day kicked off with a welcome from our two Grand Marshals; Jeffrey Slavin, local philanthropist and Mayor of Somerset, and Catherine Leggett, former First Lady of Montgomery County. We also enjoyed warm greetings from Rich Madaleno of the Office of the County Executive, and hosts Jaime Arthurs, President of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club and Tracy Miller, VP of Operations at YMCA Bethesda- Chevy Chase, with special remarks from Turkey Chase founder Carla Larrick. Before racers headed to the start line, fan favorite turkeys Gobble, Giblet and Gravy accompanied Kristen Larrick, Associate Executive Director of YMCA Arlington, in a warm-up.

We’re thankful to our sponsors including:BCC Rescue Squad, Bethesda Magazine & Bethesda Today, Celsius, Chevy Chase Acura, Clarke Hanson Wealth Management, Eagle Bank, Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce, Grosvenor Market, Just Ice Tea, Kiwanis Club of Bethesda, Koons Motors, Leonard Goldman DDS, Lids Foundation, Montcare Bethesda, Montgomery County Police Department, Neighborhoods of EYA, Nutritious Vending, The Preston of Rockville, Ruppert Landscaping, Sarah’s Handmade Ice Cream, Sanford and Doris Slavin Foundation, Torchy Tacos.
