VIRGINIA

The YMCA is offering indoor, outdoor, and online activities.

  • All members and staff will wear a mask regardless of vaccine status anytime they are in the Y facility unless they are swimming, showering, eating or drinking.  Masks will be required when participating in outdoor activities unless proof of vaccination has been provided.
    • If you have provided proof of vaccination and feel that exercising with a mask on will cause a bona fide safety risk, you may remove the mask during the period of risk only (such as when using cardio equipment and during group exercise classes). In addition and consistent with our current policy, in these instances, you must wear a wristband, which will be provided for you at the member service desk upon proof of vaccination.
    • In the case of an indoor instructor-led class, a vaccinated instructor may remove their mask while teaching if 6 feet distance is maintained from others.
  • Please bring your own towel to the Y.
  • For Y facilities that offer outdoor strength training equipment, please check-in at the front desk before using the equipment.
  • As Group Exercise class participation has returned to the full studio capacity, reservations are not required.

  • A 15 min children’s (18 and under) rest break will occur at all pools every 45 minutes starting at 1:45pm every day.

  • Please review our pool rules on location to be familiar with deep water testing requirements and flotation device requirements.

What to bring / Prior to play / Arriving:

  • Check-in with YMCA staff before proceeding to the tennis courts.  During the check-in process, your temperature will be checked with a touch-less temperature scanner, and you will be asked to scan your YMCA membership ID card.
  • Practice social distancing and keep at least six feet between you and others at all times (including on court).
  • Wearing a mask on Y property is required at all times (arriving, checking in, walking to your court, to your exiting).  You may remove your mask when you are on-court, ready to play, and at least 6 feet away from your playing partner.
  • The lounge is now open for member-use and spectators.
  • Please bring your own water bottle.
  • Please bring your own towel.
  • Please use hand sanitizer and wash your hands before and after each playing session. Ample sanitizer stations will be available.
  • Sanitize your equipment, including racquets and water bottles, prior to and after play.
  • Guests are permitted. Prior to entering the Y, each guest must complete an electronic guest waiverClick here to complete online. Please provide proof of ID upon request by YMCA Staff.
    • A $20 guest fee will be applied at check-in (credit card only). Please email [email protected] for questions.
    • To expedite check-in, your guest is encouraged to complete the waiver online prior to arriving to the Y. Please have your guest prepared to show staff your guest waiver confirmation email and ID.
  • Instruction at the Y is only permitted by YMCA-4Star Coaches.
  • Members can make court reservations online by visiting www.ymcadctennis.com.
    • Your reservation must include the full names of each member who is playing.  You can select member names in the drop-down option when making a court reservation. Please click here to also view court reservation guidelines.
  • If receiving tennis instruction, a card for payment must be on file. Please contact [email protected] for assistance.

Inclement Weather / Thunderstorm Policy

  • If thunder is heard, the pool and deck will close until 30 minutes after the last thunder is heard.
  • All members will exit the pool and pool deck during a thunderstorm and exit the YMCA.
  • Please use hand sanitizer and wash your hands before and after each playing session.
  • It is recommended that you sanitize your equipment, including racquets and water bottles, prior to and after play.  Sharing of equipment is not recommended.
  • Locker rooms are available for use
  • Members are encouraged to reserve their tennis or pickleball court time on the YMCA website.
    • For YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase, please click here to visit the reservation page and reserve your court time.

  • Check-in with YMCA staff inside of the lobby before proceeding to the tennis or pickleball courts.
