Overnight Camp at YMCA Camp Letts

At Camp Letts Overnight Camp, kids become a community as they learn how to be more independent and collaborative while engaging in physical, social and educational activities. The building blocks are always the same, but we take pride in the fact that every week with us is different.

Kids try new activities, make friends with new people, and make memories that last a lifetime. Overnight Camp at YMCA Camp Letts opens up a whole new world of summer fun!

You will learn grooming, tacking up, conformation, general first aid, how to design a jump course and practice being an instructor. The Horse Masters program teaches riders to have a strong seat and leg for a secure position when riding. As a rider’s skill progresses, they may learn two point position, cantering on the correct lead and jumping courses. We will also host a horse show here at Camp Letts to demonstrate their new skills. Camp Letts’ instructors give individual attention to all riders and build a personal riding experience for each camper. Horse Masters will spend three hours at the barn Monday through Friday. All participants must have closed toe riding shoes with at least a 1/2 inch heel and long pants.

Trail Ride ($45): Our equestrian staff lead campers on a scenic ride through our extensive wooded trails overlooking the Rhode River. This is a great introduction to the Equestrian Program for curious campers. Rides take place outside of the normal activity periods so you can experience all of Camp Letts and more.
