RESERVE YOUR PARTICIPATION IN ACTIVITES AT THE YMCA
To support social distancing across the phases of reopening, participation limits have been set on aquatics programs and group exercise classes. Active members can reserve their participation in these activities at their YMCA branch by clicking on the button for their home YMCA branch below, OR, by calling their branch on the phone and the Welcome Center team will provide assistance. Please watch the video posted on this page to learn about the very user-friendly online reservation system. For members that prefer to reserve their participation by speaking to a staff member in real time, spaces will specifically be held for these members. If the class you want to join online is full, please call the Welcome Center team for assistance in the event call-in reservations are still available. Walk-in opportunities will also be available on-site, but these are limited to encourage advance reservations to help us uphold social distancing requirements. Please plan ahead and reserve your participation during this phase. You will help keep our community healthy and safe.
Members can make a reservation to participate in an activity at their branch by selecting their home branch below OR by clicking on the “call the Y” button above. In support of the Y’s ability to uphold social distancing guidelines and support membership access for all members, they can reserve one activity per day.
For Group Exercise activities in all branches and swimming pool activities in DC and VA, reservations can be made for activities starting 72 hours in advance up until one hour in advance of the class start time.
For swimming pool activities in MD branches, beginning on Monday, August 17th, reservations can be made starting 168 hours in advance up until one hour in advance of the swim activity time. For the full policy details, please click here.
Equipment: The equipment that will be available for indoor and outdoor group exercise classes, including dumbbells, plated weights and bars, cycle bikes, medicine balls, steps and risers; will be on a schedule to allow for thorough cleaning and sanitizing. The Y asks that all participants bring their own:
Yoga or soft mats – for use in ALL classes that may take place outdoors.
Any yoga assists, such as ropes or blocks.
Towels for personal use only.
Water bottles filled with water
*Children 12 and under who will swim continuous laps must pass the deep water test and have a parent on the deck during their registered swim time. Children 13 to 15 who will swim continuous laps must pass the deep water test.

During this phase of operations, the YMCA is providing members with an opportunity to experience group exercise classes from across the Association, live, every day! Starting June 15th, we will begin broadcasting the instruction of each group exercise class live on the YMCA Wellness Facebook page. If you cannot make it to one of the YMCA classes or activities in-person, or if you prefer to workout with us from the comfort of your home for the time being, please join us online. To review the schedule of outdoor group exercise classes and lap swimming times available in phase one, please select your branch below. Once you select your branch, you can reserve your participation in the activity of your choice while space is available. This requires a quick and easy one-time account set-up. You will receive a confirmation email once you reserve your spot.
