ART THROUGH THE AGES

Let’s take a trip around the world and through time, exploring art as we go. Stop in Australia and discover aboriginal art. Create your own ancient Greek vase, explore the calligraphy and printmaking of Japan, the landscapes of France and Italy. Art and culture – around the world!

SAVOR THE FLAVOR

Campers really get cooking in this introduction to the culinary arts where they learn to create fun things that you can eat! Incorporating cleanliness, nutrition, cooking terms, measuring, creating, sharing and EATING, this camp allows children to become little chefs. From chopping up to cleaning up, it’s all food for thought.

CHESS

Checkmate! Have you ever been stumped with how the chess pieces move? Have no fear! Chess camp will teach you the basics. Chess players will learn the different chess pieces and how they work. Players learn basic strategies and good sportsmanship.

JUST BUILD IT

Calling all junior architects! Construct mini-communities, a mini model of your house and other cool buildings. Transform sticks, cardboard and other common supplies into neat looking structures. Learn about simple architectural concepts and techniques.

LEGO BUILDERS

Use Legos to explore, investigate, experiment, question and build engaging hands-on science activities. Campers will have an opportunity to create, build and program robots along with other engineering tasks.

LEGO ROBOTICS

Explore the wonderful world of robots. Students will create, build and program robots that can walk, run, make music, dance, and complete an obstacle course. Use LEGO sets to explore, investigate, experiment, question and build engaging hands-on science activities.

MICECRAFT & CODING

Dive into the world of creativity and coding! Campers will enjoy sessions on YMCA-provided computers and will engage in Minecraft creativity.

CREATIVE ARTS

Young artists will have a blast learning different drawing techniques! Campers will learn different techniques which may include portrait, landscape, still life, cartoons, and shading using a variety of materials

THINGS THAT GO

This week is all about things that go! Use a variety of materials to invent your own simple machines designed to fly, bounce, spin, and more. Get ready to design, engineer, test, and create your own things that go!

EDIBLE SCIENCE

Science you can eat? Yes, please! Campers will use science to create tasty treats. Activities may include making ice cream, growing sugar crystals, constructing edible engineering projects, and more!
